SHIBAYAMA VASE WITH DRAGONS. Japan. Meiji period (1868-1912). Wood with gold lacquer, Shibayama inlay (mostly lost), silver mounted (partly bent) with enamel. Height 20cm. Condition: Very obvious traces of age and wear. Some Shibayama inlays are missing. Silver fittings buckled at the neck and foot. Silver inlays on the vase bent. Neck a little loose and wobbly. Vase a little slanted. Silver darkened. Provenance: Private collection Southern Germany.
