On September 10, 2016, the 2016 National Amateur Chess King Tournament and the Handan Division of the 2016 National Fitness Activities Hebei Branch were held at Guangming South Primary School in Handan City, Hebei Province. More than 300 primary and secondary school students participated in the competition. The competition aimed to promote national fitness activities and boost chess culture in the Handan area .
